In the 14th match of the ongoing Lanka Premier League, Colombo Kings and Galle Gladiators locked horns with each other in Hambantota. Gladiators comfortably won the game by eight wickets with 15 balls to spare. In the same match, a funny incident took place when Gladiators’ Lakshan Sandakan tried to place the ball away from Andre Russell, and it actually went way too wide. Even the wicketkeeper got perplexed with the delivery and fell off his feet while saving the ball.

Russell and Bell-Drummond were on the crease when Sandakan tried to take his chance against the ace hitter. The wicketkeeper Azam Khan stretched his hand wide to save the ball but, rather, fell in a funny turn of incidents. After which, Danushka Gunathilaka hit the ball lightly on Azma’s head to mock him. He came up with the same video while posting it on his official Twitter handle. Gunathilaka is the leading run score of LPL 2020. Though Lakshan’s this attempt went out of his favour, he took three wickets in the match to get his team going.

While batting first, Gladiators posted 171 runs on the board. The decent score came on the back of Bell Drummond’s knock of 44 of 36 deliveries. He was supported by Chandimal’s cameo of 35 runs. However, ace pacer Mohammad Amir was in pure intentions of rupturing the order of Kings’s and did it successfully while naming a prestigious five-wicket haul on his credit. He took a fifer while conceding just 26 runs in his over and was named as the player of the match for his outstanding show.

In return, Ahsan Ali’s 56 of 38 and Gunathilaka’s 38 of 28 set the perfect chasing tone for the team. Not much was left on the plate of batter coming up head, but they made their contributions well enough to take their team over the line. Cameo by Rajapaksa (37 of 24) and quickfire innings by Azam Khan (35 of 16) remained significant in their chase game.

Qais Ahmad and Dhamika Prasad got one wicket each under their belt. However, most of the bowlers from Kings remained too costly on the day except Ahmad.
