Ahead of the series decider at the Gabba in Brisbane, India is left with a lot of injury concerns that have been plaguing them since they arrived on the shores of Australia. The hosts dominated most of the time in the Sydney Test, but the visitors escaped with a draw. Their effort meant that Ajinkya Rahane’s side will get one last chance to win another historic Test series in Australia.

But, at this moment, the Indian team is finding it difficult to find 11 fit players to get on the ground. There has been too much going around the Indian team, which can make it difficult for them to play normally and concentrate on their match performance.

Team India’s management straying away from commenting about Bumrah’s injury

According to some reports on the Times of India, no fast bowler took part in the training session which was supposed to be held in Brisbane on Wednesday. The report also revealed that an Indian team spokesperson had mentioned all this information. However, he did stray away from commenting on Jasprit Bumrah’s current state of fitness. There hasn’t been any official announcement from the team management or BCCI about the same.

But, there have been reports that he suffered an abdominal strain which will rule him out of the final Test. It should be noted that there was a talk about this only because the team management apparently felt that Jasprit playing another five days of cricket might just aggravate the injury which he is suffering through.

Natarajan could become the third pacer to debut in this series

In case, Bumrah misses the Gabba Test, then he would be replaced by either Shardul Thakur or T Natarajan. That would force the Indian team to walk into the pitch with probably the most inexperienced pace bowling unit in a very long time. Mohammad Siraj and Navdeep Saini, made their debuts in this series only while Thakur has played only Test. Technically, he didn’t because he got injured after bowling just 10 balls.

Before the start of the tour, Ishant Sharma was ruled out. In the first Test, Mohammed Shami got injured and India had to introduce a new bowler. If that wasn’t enough, Umesh Yadav got injured himself in the second Test. If Bumrah misses out, India’s chances of sealing the Brisbane Test will become a little less.
