The name of Knight Riders’ ace spinner Sunil Narine has been taken off the suspect action warning list, and he is likely to bowl soon in the cash-rich league. After working on his action, he has been given a nod and would continue to bowl during the rest of the IPL 2020. The 32-year-old was objected to by the on-field umpire when he was bowling against Kings XI Punjab last week. Had he got one more warning, he would have been banned for the 2020 season.

Soon after he was reported, the franchise dropped him from the playing XI. He started working on his action day and night with Englishman Carl Crowe. Crowe helped him earlier also when he was called for his suspect action. He now looks ready and might return into playing XI of KKR and flaunt his class against SRH batsmen.

“KKR requested for an Official Assessment of Mr. Narine’s action from the IPL Suspect Bowling Action Committee, submitting action footage in slow motion with back and side angles. The Committee carefully reviewed all the deliveries of action footage sent of Mr. Narine with the naked eye and has come to the conclusion that the elbow-bend appears to be within the range of permissible limits. The Committee also noted that Mr. Narine should reproduce the same action going forward in the IPL 2020 matches as presented to the Committee in the video footage,” the Press Release from BCCI read.

Sunil Narine continues to be the star spinner of KKR

The release also stated that Narine should go on with the same action as of what was shown in the video footage, which was sent to the official committee. His name has been taken off from the suspect action list and looks ready for some action with Kolkata. KKR must have breathed a sigh of relief as their ace spinner is back in the team as the team is struggling a bit at the current moment.

The Caribbean has a history of being objected for his bowling action. The same action led him out of the 2015 World Cup and 2016 T20 WC. Despite all this, he continues to be KKR frontline spinner, who comes to the team’s rescue in crucial situations.
